The Director of Operations of Drone by Drone, Jordi Monedero, was interviewed yesterday by Antena 3 TV News.
Part of the interview was published in the News in which an analysis of the incident between A320 Lufthansa carried out the approach to the airport of Bilbao and three drones or RC airplanes that were spotted by the pilot of the aircraft is collected. The commercial aircraft had to perform evasive maneuvers to dodge the three aircraft allegedly flew in formation about 4 miles from the threshold of runway 30. The place where the drones were spotted is part of CTR Bilbao Airport, and therefore it is controlled airspace, in which drones or model airplanes have totally prohibited flight under Law 18/2014 regulating the commercial operation of drones.
Drone by Drone regrets the serious incident that could have been potentially dangerous to the integrity of the aircraft at high speeds because any object that collides with an aircraft can cause extensive damage and can put the flight at risk.
