Applications of thermographic cameras in drones

Drone by Drone performs professional drone operations through multiple sensors embedded in our extensive RPAS fleet.

The applications through thermographic cameras range from the industrial inspection of large production facilities, to small transformation centers or the analysis of energy losses in buildings for the realization of their Technical Inspection.

Through the use of thermographic cameras, the maintenance of high voltage electrical lines has been carried out to review the protection and insulation elements as well as the general installation by visible spectrum cameras.

In addition, thermographic cameras embedded in drones are a fundamental tool in surveillance, search, tracking and rescue. The emission of heat by missing persons is captured at great distance and height by the cameras that carry the drones, allowing a much faster and more efficient search. The use of drones in this type of work, in coordination with the emergency agencies and the security forces is a new tool that allows a greater survival in this type of tasks.

The operating company of drones located in Bilbao counts among its cameras with the new DJI Zenmuse XT. A high resolution radiometric thermal camera (640x512) made by FLIR and capable of attaching to the DJI Inspire 1 and DJI Matrice 600 drones, providing great flexibility. Its resolution and refresh rate of 30Hz make the XT thermal camera an effective working tool.

The photos shown in the news speak for themselves. The thermographic camera is capable of detecting people despite being in the forest thicket.

Drone by Drone continues to work in offering its customers the services that best fit their needs. We will keep you informed.
