The DJI drone maker has done it again.
Within a few months of the release of Phantom 4 Pro, Mavic Pro or Inspire 2, DJI has re-drilled the loop for drones for industrial or technical applications. The new DJI Matrice 200 is a quadricopter that sits in the segment between the Matrice 100 and the Matrice 600.
The Matrice 200 is a drone of new design, avant-garde and with technological benefits increased compared to the entire family of drones of the manufacturer.
The M200 is a heir to the innovations introduced in the Inspire 2, such as the FPV pilot camera for the pilot, proximity sensors of frontal and superior obstacles or double battery. These innovations imply an improvement in safety and an increase in flight autonomy up to a maximum of 38 minutes, although we must take into account the payload.
It is precisely the versatility of the payloads that can put in the air what gives it its power in technical work. You can upload the latest Inspire 2, X4S and X5S cameras, as well as the more technical DJI cameras, such as the Z30 or the XT thermal, simultaneously. The possibility of providing GPS RTK substantially increases the accuracy of flights, so data collection is performed with greater efficiency allowing the generation of more accurate models.
It also has an IP43 protection level, with a good level of protection against dust particles up to 1mm in diameter and protection against rain in short periods of time (5min).
Perhaps one of the most important technological aspects of the new Matrice 200 is the incorporation of an ADS-B transponder through the called DJI AirSense technology. This equipment will allow the DJI Matrice 200 to fly in controlled airspace when the law makes it possible, according to the draft of the future Royal Decree.
In addition, as usual, DJI leaves the system open to developers through its SDK tool, and it advances the DJI FlightHub application for control of fleet of drones remotely in real time.
