Drone by Drone has been following the Race Team 'Modark' during the start of the racing season in the Bay of Biscay.
Through the use of drones, the RPAS operating company based in Bilbao is doing a photographic and aerial video report for the powerful racing team with bases in the Mediterranean and in the Bay of Biscay.
The Modark Racing Team has a wide range of sports, with notable positions in the Copa del Rey, the Count of Godó or the Her Majesty the Queen Trophy, as well as triumphs in the Ophiusa Regatta or in the Spanish Cup Catalonia and the Balearic Islands or in the Reverse Regatta of the Delta del Ebro or the Three Rías Regatta.
The aerial recordings will allow, besides supposing a powerful publicity material, to study the different strategies used in the different regattas and analyze their result with respect to the rest of the fleet. From the elevated point of view of a drone, the areas with the most wind are perceived, while observing the contenders and their speed and course are assessed more easily than from the deck of the ship. Something like the lookouts they carried on the Copa America ships, but more sophisticated and capable of moving in the air.
