Welcome to the spring from our drones: Works in fruit trees

We welcome spring from our drones. The season of the year in which the fruit trees and trees in general suffer that explosion of color so spectacular from the air.

From our particular point of view, in view of our drones, besides having the possibility of contemplating the beautiful views, it is a time for the beginning of our work in precision agriculture in the fruit and vegetable sector.

Through multispectral cameras we can perform aerial work in the fruit and vegetable sector since the beginning of spring, obtaining valuable data for farmers.

The correct use of the NDVI or the more specific PRI index allows knowing the hydric stress of the crop. For this, it is necessary to model at the leaf and cover level those parameters that have a great influence on the reflectance, so the work carried out uses a methodology based on radiative transfer models that simulate the "theoretical PRI" to determine its value in the absence of stress. The measurements have been made in fruit trees evaluating the different irrigation treatments carried out. The multispectral images are of a high value for the optimization of the water resources of the exploitation.

All this aimed at the optimization of the harvest and decrease in consumption of raw materials.
