Flight test Swellpro Splash Drone 3 in our Islares flight field

Drone by Drone has had the opportunity to test the Swellpro waterproof and water drone, the Splash Drone 3 in flight.

The Swellpro drone flight tests have been carried out in our Islares flight field, an ideal place since it has a near coast presence. The weather conditions during the flight test allowed us to check the flight capabilities of the Splash Drone 3. Compared to the DJI Mavic 2 Pro, in strong wind conditions, the Splash Drone 3 was much more unstable. In many moments the wind dragged slightly the Splash Drone 3, forcing to pay close attention in the drone piloting. Actually the piloting was a bit like an ATTI assisted by GPS, but with the need to make continuous corrections. Meanwhile, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro was stable, fighting effectively against the wind.

They have been able to test the RTH systems of the Splash Drone 3, as well as the payload release system that has the proven model, the Rescue Version.

The Swellpro Splash Drone 3 is a drone to take into account in case the operations are performed on water and carried out from the coastal area or even from the boat. The manufacturer ensures the buoyancy of the drone and the possibility of landing and re-launching from the surface of the sea. In addition, it would allow flying in light rain conditions, thanks to its tightness.

A good DJI alternative in marine environment conditions, although with a somewhat more unstable flight and much less powerful flight control software. For the price of commercialization of the Splash Drone 3 (around € 1,400) there are very good alternatives of the competition, although without ensuring tightness or buoyancy. Each one must evaluate the alternatives that are available.
