Drone by Drone with the day Zero Plastiko Urdaibai on the World Day of the Oceans

On Saturday, June 8, the plastic collection day called 'Zero Plastiko Urdaibai' was held in the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve.

The campaign is a sustainable event that has Erronka Garbia certification issued by Ihobe, the public environmental management society of the Basque Government that encourages the cleaning and collection of plastics and other waste on the coast of this region, led by the diving club of Bermeo Izaro Sub, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and the Department of the Environment, Territorial Planning and Housing of the Basque Government. This campaign coincided with the celebration of World Oceans Day.

The campaign has been a resounding success thanks to the 2,500 volunteers of all ages who have participated in it and the presence of 300 divers from all over the Basque Country and neighboring areas, as well as hundreds of boats have collected 8 tons of plastics and other waste.

The initiative has had the support of the Athletic Club Foundation, BBK Foundation, Ura-Basque Water Agency, Alakrana de Echebastar, Maier, BTWC-Bermeo Tuna World Capital, Euskotren and the rural development association Urremendi.
