Drone by Drone joins Iberdrola's Global Smart Grid Innovation Hub

Drone by Drone joins Iberdrola's development of innovative projects and is part of the Global Smart Grid Innovation Hub, an innovation center located in Larraskitu (Bilbao) in which the digitization of electricity grids, the integration of renewables and the deployment of the electric vehicle.

In addition to the drone operating company of Bizkaia, other companies will join forces with Iberdrola such as Siemens, GE, Shneider, Indra, Nokia, Ingeteam, Ormazabal, Arteche, ZIV, CIC Energigune, Circutor, Merytronic, Zigor, Pronutec, Iberrapa, BCare Ariadna , Innovae, System-on-Chip Engineering or Basque Center of Applied Mathematics.

In addition, it has the collaboration of universities, technology centers and associations such as Tecnalia, Mondragón, UPV / EHU, Deustotech, Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía (ITE), CIDETEC, Cluster Gaia, Asociación Cluster de la Energía del País Vasco or SMARTPD.

One of the lines of work will be dedicated to finding solutions to reduce the environmental impact of electrical installations and to achieve greater energy savings and efficiency, areas in which drones play a great role. Aware of this, Drone by Drone has joined forces in the energy innovation pole that Iberdrola has created at its facilities in Bilbao, in order to carry out innovation projects that are more ambitious than the work that is being carried out on a recurring basis today. Drones will provide innovative solutions in the aforementioned areas, significantly improving current production and management models.
