Drone by Drone at the inauguration of the Iberdrola GSGIH in Bilbao

Last Tuesday, October 5, the Iberdrola Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub (GSGIH) was inaugurated at its facilities in Larraskitu, Bilbao. Drone by Drone, as a collaborating company, participates in this international innovation center, whose aspiration is to become a benchmark in the development and implementation of smart grids. This innovation center will make it possible to respond to the challenges of the energy transition, which, promoted by Iberdrola and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, has the industrial and technological support of numerous Basque companies, among which is this operating company from Bizkaia.

With the creation of the Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub, the electricity distribution company intends to increase innovation projects in smart grids, consolidating and expanding the current successful model of collaboration with electrical equipment manufacturers and service providers, among which the drones take on a high importance.

Iberdrola has already identified more than 120 projects for its future development worth 110 million euros and has reached agreements with 30 technological partners for the development of solutions for the digitization of networks, integration of renewables, deployment of the electric vehicle and storage systems of Energy.
