#Manaslu2022 Base Camp in view of drone loaded with snow

We publish this video of the Manaslu base camp loaded with snow after heavy snowfall, on a day in which we are officially informed by the #Manaslu2022 team. The drone video shows the amount of snow that has forced the team to abandon the attempt to climb Manaslu in winter, as conditions are unsafe beyond C1.

In the words of Alex Txikon himself: “It has cost us a lot to make this decision but I think it is the most sensible thing to do. They forecast a lot of snow and strong winds for the next few days”

The weather instability continues in Manaslu and, for this reason, the team led by Alex Txikon has decided to go down to Kathmandu. Even so, they will still remain a few more weeks in Nepal until they collect all the elements from the base camp, since, in addition to being expressly prohibited, a sustainable expedition like theirs cannot afford to leave so much abandoned material in a protected place.

Serve this video from a drone view, the result of the collaboration between Drone by Drone and Alex Txikon's team, as a tribute to the expedition, and to the harsh conditions experienced at the base camp, which require an honorable and safe withdrawal. renewed hope for future expeditions.
