Drone by Drone and Invar presented last week the DroneSAAT traffic monitoring system using drones.
In an online presentation, attended by nearly 30 specialists and experts from the infrastructure and mobility sector, the possibilities of the DroneSAAT system were revealed, which combines the use of unmanned aircraft and image processing with technology based on Artificial Intelligence.
During the presentation, success stories were shown in different environments and scenarios in different locations throughout Spain, demonstrating the capabilities and benefits of using this measurement system.
Unlike other technologies on the market, DroneSAAT is unique as it allows monitoring complex infrastructures by recording aerial images and subsequently processing them with Artificial Intelligence (AI), resulting in economic savings for the end customer in the execution of the entire operation and process of measuring the state of traffic and mobility.
DroneSAAT can be used on urban or interurban road sections, at intersections, roundabouts, links and large communication hubs, on vehicle entry and exit ramps, in toll areas, bridges, viaducts, as well as at access points to large surfaces, commercial areas, industrial estates, or in strategic environments such as ports and airports.
It allows the recording of traffic information such as the volume and intensity of vehicles, origin and destination matrices of trips, density of vehicles per lane, saturation, congestion, delays and queues of vehicles, circulation speeds, service levels, road occupancy, temporary distribution and patterns of vehicle arrival, areas of greater wear on road surfaces and pavements, and much more.
Both companies, aware of the numerous uses in which the system can be applied, continue to develop practical cases for other sectors, such as tourism or emergencies.
