We are participating in the European DRONES360 Project thanks to Politeknika Txorierri, an educational centre for both vocational training and high school.
The DRONES360 project aims to promote digital transformation, innovation and attractiveness within the vocational education and training sector. The goal is to improve the preparation, adaptability and confidence of vocational training trainers to integrate drone and XR technologies in the green sector. By equipping students with new transversal skills, the project seeks to better align their competencies with the demands of the labour market and prepare a workforce capable of addressing societal challenges, such as mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
To this end, the Technical Director of Drone by Drone has been interviewed in a podcast format published on Youtube.

The interview covered general topics of the drone sector and the business related to unmanned aircraft and the application in different sectors. It also covered aspects related to training and training needs of pilots in order to develop specific training actions.
The innovative nature of the project is underpinned by several key strategies. It adopts a co-design methodology involving digital experts, labour market representatives and green professionals from the beginning of the development phase. This collaborative approach, which includes synergies, study visits with podcasts and a mapping tool to record best practices across the EU, actively involves VET trainers and students in the design of specific training programmes. The project integrates first-hand labour market experiences into the development of VR/AR simulations for professional development training, creating immersive and real-life work-related scenarios to acquire drone-related skills. A holistic approach is taken to promote the dual transition (digital and green), thus fostering a more competent and skilled labour market with a positive and sustainable impact both on local communities and in the global context. The project also offers a validated approach by combining the benefits of new micro-credentials and established ECVET methodologies for training training, ensuring recognition, transparency, transferability and validation of newly acquired skills. Furthermore, an inclusive, interactive and accessible portal is being developed including e-learning resources, a validation procedure, podcasts and a mapping tool to empower VET trainers and connect them to the labour market. Accredited guidelines and training are provided to VET trainers and learners in six EU countries to become certified drone pilots, opening up new employment opportunities in emerging fields. Finally, the project ensures full sustainability and exploitation of all its products beyond the funding period, not only among the partners who will integrate these results into their daily practices, but also through transferability to other sectors, such as higher education and adult learning, through the consortium's extensive network.
