The Directorate General of Civil Aviation, under the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, together with the State Agency for Air Safety and ENAIRE, have launched a survey on the social acceptance of the use of drones and their future in Spain. The administration seeks to understand what the general population thinks about this manned aircraft technology, which is transforming multiple sectors, from agriculture to inspections to emergencies, and could do so in the future with parcel and delivery services, even air taxis.
This survey is part of the coordination mechanisms included in the National Action Plan for the Deployment of U-space in Spain (PANDU). Additionally, it allows for compliance with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/664 and, specifically, its Article 18.f) regarding Coordination Mechanisms. To this end, the Interministerial Commission between Defense and Transport (CIDETRA) has approved a three-tiered working method that ensures the participation of national, regional, and local authorities, as well as other organizations, entities, and key stakeholders in the sector and society. Furthermore, the effective deployment of U-space must take into account the opinions of all involved and/or affected parties, which is why the process also considers citizen participation.
To participate in the survey, you only need to spend a few minutes answering the questions and contribute to a key dialogue about the responsible and beneficial use of drones or UAS.
