We participated with our drones in the collapsed structure simulation together with the Bizkaia Provincial Council Firefighters.

Drone by Drone had the opportunity to participate with drones in the BREC drill carried out by the Bizkaia Provincial Council's Fire Prevention, Extinction, and Rescue Service (SPEIS) in the municipality of Getxo.

Taking advantage of the demolition of a public building, the Bizkaia Fire Service organized a search and rescue simulation in collapsed structures (BREC) in a completely realistic scenario, in which different operational procedures were tested alongside new technologies, such as drones and UAS.

Along with the unmanned aircraft, various specialized BREC units were deployed, in addition to the Ertzaintza canine unit and the Basque Country rescue dog group. The drone operating company, together with the recently created SPEIS drone unit, provided a general aerial view of the scene, both during the day and at night, enabling the use of thermal imaging cameras to detect potential victims in the simulated building collapse emergency.

Drone or UAS operations in these circumstances have proven to be very useful and complementary to more traditional techniques. Drone pilot training in non-EASA operations for any public or civilian operator performing this type of work is vital, as it optimizes coordination procedures with the rest of the teams. In this case, the team worked in coordination with the deployed advanced command post, guiding rescuers and canine units to the detected potential victims, in addition to providing a general aerial view of the magnitude of the disaster. As a drone operating company specializing in emergencies and civil protection, as well as training for public agencies, we are pleased to continue learning and contributing our legal knowledge and operational experience to these types of operations, which are so complex from every perspective.

Quoting the Provincial Council of Bizkaia itself, "With this training, Bizkaia reaffirms its commitment to the modernization and effectiveness of its emergency services, consolidating a model of action prepared for the most demanding challenges in terms of security and citizen protection."
