Drone by Drone has completed filming the film "Las Ciegas Hormigas" after several intense days in which the weather played a central role, in keeping with the plot and atmosphere of the feature film.
Written in Basque by the director, Igor Legarreta, and Andoni de Carlos, the script for Inurri Itsuak is based on the acclaimed novel "Las Ciegas Hormigas" by Ramiro Pinilla, a story of survival set in Las Arenas in the 1930s that won the Nadal Prize in 1961.
The film took place over ten weeks in different locations in Bizkaia, spread across Bilbao, Elorrio, Galdakao, Getxo, Gorliz, and Mundaka. The film stars Urko Olazabal, Itziar Ituño, Josean Bengoetxea, Miren Gaztañaga, Unax Hayden, and Patxi Bisquert, among others.
The film is produced by Lamia, Lazona Producciones, Sideral Cinema, and Buendía Estudios Bizkaia, in co-production with the Belgian company Caviar Antwerp, and also includes the participation of EiTB and Atresmedia Cine.
We are delighted to be part of this dramatic film, which has put our film drones to the test, both for the impressive sequences and for the VFX recreation of the cliffs and the shipwreck that drive the plot. On this occasion, we not only relied on our film drones, such as the DJI Inspire 3, but we also had to operate our most technical drones, equipped with topographic positioning to faithfully reconstruct the environment in which part of the film takes place digitally in 3D.
It was a wonderful challenge, and we can't wait to see the result on the big screen.
