Drone pilot training for the Bizkaia Provincial Council Fire Service by Drone by Drone

Drone by Drone has provided training to the Fire Prevention and Extinction Service (SPEIS) of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia.
The drone operator, providing a comprehensive service for firefighter pilot training, providing advice and document preparation for manuals and necessary safety studies, and selling drones and accessories, has actively participated in the implementation of the Bizkaia SPEIS over the past year.

It is clear that drones or UAS have become a valuable tool for this type of emergency services, expanding the detection and monitoring capabilities of various events. We were able to demonstrate this during the practical part of the specifically designed training, which included night flights with specialized drones, and during the various drills and test flights in which we participated with the firefighters of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia.

Particular emphasis has been placed on the practical phase of the training, without neglecting the theoretical phase, both with in-person delivery of specific material customized for the Bizkaia SPEIS.

Aerial operations using unmanned aircraft by firefighters and similar bodies fall within the so-called non-EASA operations, as they are not covered by European regulations, but are covered by national regulations, mainly developed based on Royal Decree 517/2024. With the publication of the national non-EASA standard scenarios for the specific category and the provisions of the aforementioned national regulations, the flexibility of UAS use is commensurate with European operational concepts and allows for a rapid response by emergency response teams.

As part of our commitment to the pursuit of excellence, both ourselves and our clients, we will continue to promote and advise on unmanned aircraft, with the aim of turning them into effective tools for emergency management authorities, and potentially extending this to municipalities and associations of communities.
