Drone by Drone was present during BBK Live in Bilbao, one of Europe's leading festivals, providing drone operations services for the Civil Protection of the Bilbao City Council.
With more than 110,000 people attending the three-day BBK Live, protecting and monitoring people's movements is crucial for the proper functioning of emergency and protection plans. Drones equipped with thermal imaging cameras and powerful zoom lenses allow the movement of people within the BBK Live venue to be observed, even at night, making the drone a crucial tool for establishing appropriate protection measures and even correcting them in real time.
The Bizkaia-based drone operator has provided this important service for the Bilbao City Council, conducting UAS flights both day and night, enabling real-time monitoring of people's movements.
To achieve this, we used discreet drones, so as not to interfere with the enjoyment of the attendees, but equipped with powerful sensors, both thermographic and RGB, which allowed us to provide real-time images at the forward command post, serving the security and emergency services present. With them, we discovered a new way to enjoy the concerts: on-site, yet at a sufficient distance to be able to work safely, without missing a single detail of the movements of the crowds and the performances of artists such as Kylie Minogue and Nathy Peluso, among others.
