During the Bilbao Aste Nagusia festivities, Drone by Drone provided preventive surveillance services using drones for the Municipal Police at various locations throughout the city, depending on the needs of the emergency and security services at any given time.
Using drones equipped with thermal imaging cameras and RGB optics with a powerful zoom, preventive devices are able to assess live flows of people, potentially dangerous crowds or overcrowding, the orderly evacuation of festival venues, the presence of illegal activities on public streets, uncivil activities, or potential crimes.
From the advantageous perspective provided by unmanned aircraft, we are able to obtain real-time information to guide or supplement information to the devices in the field, in addition to providing aerial coverage for actions that require rapid and safe deployment.
We are confident that the drone, in addition to serving as a preventive system against possible fires during the fireworks, has also contributed to providing additional security. It's clear that it's not a substitute for other security systems, and it also has certain logical limitations when flying in urban environments. However, we believe it perfectly complements the prevention and security measures deployed by Bilbao City Council.
