Drone by Drone participated in the Bilbao City Council's preventative deployment for civil protection during the Santo Tomás festival.
Our drones proactively monitored the massive event, the grand celebration of Basque agriculture. Their assigned tasks, given the large crowds gathered to enjoy traditional products, primarily involved controlling the flow of people at the entrances to the Arenal in Bilbao and managing potential overcrowding at key points within the festival grounds, in order to prevent any incidents.
From the air, we are able to assess risk, anticipate potential areas of congestion, and even support a possible medical evacuation in the area, determining the route in real time to ensure the fastest possible exit. All of this is done in direct coordination with the Advanced Command Post, which brings together the various agencies involved.
The availability of a fast-response, flexible aerial resource equipped with powerful sensors, including a thermal imaging camera, enhances the capabilities of protection and emergency services, with which Drone by Drone works closely to promote the use of drones in these tasks.
We will continue to contribute our UAS to this important social function.
