Final phase of the PUMAR-IA project. Drones and Artificial Intelligence at the service of cider apple orchards

We continue to make progress on the PUMAR-IA project, which is now in its final stages.

The application of artificial intelligence with data obtained from drones equipped with RGB and multispectral cameras in the agricultural sector is no longer just a future promise. These are real tools for making better decisions, optimizing resources, and improving field planning.

With PUMAR-IA, we are developing a solution that combines drones, data, and AI to help estimate yields, plan harvesting, reduce costs, and detect potential problems earlier and more accurately. This project aims to promote smarter, more efficient, and more sustainable agriculture by connecting technological innovation with the real needs of the sector and traditional apple orchards in Asturias and the Basque Country.

The PUMAR-IA project is coordinated by the Smart City Asturias Cluster and includes the participation of the GAIA Cluster, as well as Drone by Drone, Bízkares Biosolutions, and Forest4Future Ingeniería. A project co-financed with support grants for Innovative Business Clusters from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism (AEI).

Next Tuesday, May 26, we will present this project at the online event "Smart Industry," where we will share the progress, lessons learned, and results achieved in this final phase.
