The Ministry of Public Works presents the Strategic Plan for the development of the civilian drone sector 2018-2021

On Monday, March 19, the Ministry of Development presented the Strategic Plan for the Development of the Civil Sector of Drones 2018-2021.

As the Minister of Development, D Iñigo De La Serna, announced last October in the Congress of Deputies, the roadmap that the administration intends to promote the sector of drones or piloted civil aircraft has been presented by remote control during the next three years.

The Plan consists of 4 strategic axes that intend to order the different lines of action. These axes are structured, in turn, into 8 strategic lines, which are specified in 29 initiatives:

- Normative axis within which the contribution of ENAIRE through the web application of safe flight for drones by the air traffic manager stands out.

- Axis of actions in R + D + i that encompasses the actions that pursue the strengthening and growth of our companies.

- Axis to improve knowledge of the RPAS sector that goes far beyond the traditional aeronautical sector, through the corresponding tasks of knowledge management and dissemination.

- Axis related to coordination actions between the different administrations involved in all areas of drones, covering aspects such as the safety of operations with drones, the protection of privacy, etc.

The Plan also includes the different management, coordination and follow-up mechanisms, which are articulated through a steering committee and another coordination and monitoring committee whose objective is that the initiatives included in the document be implemented in an efficient manner.

Until next April 30, an open consultation process begins in which all interested parties can participate in the preparation of the final version of the Strategic Plan, sending their comments to the mailbox

The drone sector in Spain is in luck, first with the approval of the new Royal Decree 1036/2017 and now with the presentation of this Strategic Plan that will make the Spanish drone operating companies much more competitive.
