Winners of the Start-up Challenge launched by Iberdrola

Drone by Drone has been the winner of the Start-up Challenge launched by Iberdrola, through its International Start-ups Program, in which innovative solutions were sought to provide environmental measures in its distribution airlines.

Iberdrola, through its International Start-up Program, PERSEO, has selected two innovative solutions for its distribution airlines: the company Drone by Drone and the company Highline Division. Both base their solutions on the use of drones to provide measures to minimize environmental risks and the impact of electricity distribution networks. The objective is to improve safety and efficiency, and maintain the continuity of the supply service, complying with strict environmental regulations.

Iberdrola has more than 1.1 million kilometers of transmission and distribution power lines spread across the United States, Brazil, the United Kingdom and Spain. These power lines extend through different geographical areas and interact directly with the environment and the birds present in the different ecosystems.

The challenge is launched within the framework of Iberdrola's new smart grid innovation center, Global Smart Grids Innovation Hub and Eureka.

The hub will act as a driving platform for innovation, combining the company's technological capacity with that of collaborators: suppliers, universities, technology centers and start-ups. In addition, it will serve to attract strategic suppliers and international talent, thus reinforcing the business ecosystem.

We are proud to start the year with such good news, guaranteeing the continuity of the innovation projects in which we have been immersed for a few years.
