EASA publishes updated Easy Access Rules for UAS, Unmanned Aircraft Systems

EASA has reissued new and updated 'Easy Access Rules' for Uas. This publication contains the rules and procedures for the operation of unmanned aircraft, displayed in a consolidated, easy-to-read format, with advanced navigation features via links and bookmarks.

'Easy Access Rules' is the result of the eRules project. They are consolidated versions of those rules, combining the EU regulations with EASA Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM) in an easy-to-read format with advanced navigation features via links and bookmarks. This document is periodically updated following the adoption of an official publication.

The new publication, like the previous ones, covers Commission Implementing Regulation EU 2019/947 and related Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM), as well as EU Delegated Regulation 2019/945 of the Commission on unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and on UAS operators from third countries.

This new revision of September 2022 incorporates the changes introduced by:

- Execution Regulation UE 2022/425 of the Commission that modifies the Execution Regulation UE 2019/947 of the Commission with regard to the postponement of the transition dates for the use of certain UAS in the open category and the dates of application for some standard scenarios.

- Decision ED 2022/002/R amending Decision ED 2019/021/R on 'geographical zones', operational authorization forms in the specific category, a procedure and forms for cross-border operations, standard scenarios, training modules program for pilots remotes in the specific category, and a new predefined risk assessment.
