We shot the VI edition of Euskelec in Bilbao using drones

Drone by Drone has covered the VI edition of Euskelec held in Bilbao, on the esplanade in front of the San Mamés stadium, using drones.

Euskelec is a competition in which students from Vocational Training centers in the Basque Country design and build completely electric vehicles on a common motor base (motor, motor controller and batteries). The objective of the competition is to promote the teamwork of the students and base the experimental and creative activity as a pedagogical element for the technical knowledge of electric vehicles. The final phase of Euskelec takes place on a closed urban circuit, in which the vehicles compete in different tests:
- acceleration test
- Slalom test
- Braking test
- Resistance test

The Bilbao drone operating company has participated in the live broadcast using drones of the tests carried out on the circuit on the San Mamés esplanade, led by the Somorrostro Training Center, with the deployment of 5G telecommunications and a mobile unit with up to 16 cameras and drone.

An event in which we have enjoyed, demonstrating that the use of drones in urban environments and in controlled airspace is possible, as long as the limitations specified by the current law on unmanned aircraft are met.

The aerial photo that illustrates the news shows the spectacularity of the circuit and the environment. We only have to congratulate the organization and all the participants and collaborators for the great atmosphere that is generated and the work that is done by the students of the participating centers.
