Drone by Drone is providing a preventive service through drones for the evaluation of the condition of the fireworks of the Semana Grande in Bilbao.
Through the use of unmanned aircraft equipped with thermographic and visible spectrum cameras, the Bizkaia drone operating company is obtaining aerial data in the form of radiometric photographs and videos, before, during and after the launch of the fireworks. These technical recordings allow the Civil Protection media and the Bilbao Fire Brigade to detect any small outbreak of fire that may occur, either in the vegetation and trees of the Etxebarria Park in Bilbao or on the roofs of the houses on Carrer de la Esperanza and on the street of the Widow of Epalza. With the precise information that our drones capture, the aforementioned services are capable of quickly locating an outbreak of fire and stopping it quickly. In an expert manner, the recorded material could be analyzed to evaluate possible undetected fires at first and analyze their real origin a posteriori.
Drone flight in these circumstances is demanding at a regulatory and technical level, so operations are carried out with two different drones, both equipped with thermographic cameras for analysis of pathologies. These are the DJI Inspire 1 multicopters with the XT-R 640 camera and the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual.
