Casa del Olentzero in Mungia, Bizkaia, from a drone

Drone by Drone wanted to pay tribute to the character of Olentzero on these important dates full of hopes, and we flew to his house.

The Olentzero is a charcoal burner from the Christmas tradition of Euskadi who is responsible for announcing the birth of Jesus and therefore bringing gifts to the little ones (and not so little ones) during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. His 'house' is located in the oldest hamlet in Bizkaia, Landetxo Goikoa, dating back to approximately 1510. Located in Mungia, it is possibly the hamlet with the most architectural value in western Euskadi.

Currently the Olentzero house is a must-visit place for the children of Bizkaia, since it has become an educational and leisure space where the little ones learn the culture, tradition and mythology of Euskal Herria while having fun. And of course, they will be able to see the Olentzero and give him his letters full of enthusiasm.

It's a shame that from the air we cannot appreciate the beauty and magic of the place in all its splendor.
