Video of the presentation of Drone SAAT for monitoring traffic in infrastructure using drones

Video of the webinar presenting the Drone SAAT system as a practical case of Innobasque innovation by Ander García, CTO of Drone by Drone.

The Drone SAAT project was born from the collaboration between Drone by Drone, a company dedicated to the use of drones, and Invar, an engineering company focused on artificial intelligence and vision.

Thus, the collaboration between both companies, in which Drone by Drone contributes its knowledge in drone flight and Invar its experience in intelligence and artificial vision, aimed at advanced data processing, aims to generate high-value information for its clients. in terms of traffic monitoring on road infrastructure.

The operation of this innovative system is as follows:
The drones obtain high-resolution aerial images of specific points in road infrastructure (example: communication nodes) that are analyzed by the information management and processing unit using its own artificial intelligence and vision routines and algorithms. In this way, the system provides the client (road infrastructure manager) with real, reliable and updated information on the situation and functionality of the road network under study.

Specifically, the information that this system can offer includes:
Traffic volume and intensity, rush hour factor, arrival interval, delay times, speed estimation, service levels and degrees of saturation, origin/destination matrix of movements and trajectory analysis.

In addition, it also distinguishes the different types of vehicles (car, truck...).

All this high-value information is very useful for the road infrastructure manager, since it allows him to optimize his management and even have the necessary information for the adequate design of future infrastructures.

It should be noted that the innovative Drone SAAT system provides its clients with important advantages over traditional traffic monitoring systems, since it is not intrusive, does not require physical installation at the road point to be studied, and can operate both day and night. at night, it is easily adaptable to the client's needs and automatically processes the initial information (continuous high-resolution images taken by drones), thus considerably reducing the costs of obtaining the aforementioned information.
